Arts & Crafts Instructor

Wage: Salaried position for summer camp season.

Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director

Qualifications: Creative and artistic person; experience working with children; experience leading children in group activities; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, at least high school diploma and 18 years of age, but college student majoring in music or professional working in education or music field preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to move quickly and freely across all camp terrains and keep children in sight as needed. Candidate must be able to communicate in a manner that all campers and staff can easily understand.

Duties Include:

  • Role model for all campers and Jr. Staff.
  • Lead your classes in an orderly, positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Plan and implement projects appropriate for each individual group appropriate for their varied ages and abilities and fill your class period.
  • See that final projects art saved for family night or sent home in a save way.
  • Display art projects in a professional and organized way for family night.
  • Use the camp behavior plan, and follow through with Director when needed.
  • Supervise CIT’s and Junior Counselor staff
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Keep your cabin and cabin supplies neat and orderly.
  • Other duties assigned by the executive director.

Performing Arts Instructor

Wage: Salaried position for summer camp season.

Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director

Qualifications: must play an instrument which will allow you to accompany and sing with children; experience working with children; experience leading children in group activities; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, at least high school diploma and 18 years of age, but college student majoring in music or professional working in education or music field preferred.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to move quickly and freely across all camp terrains and keep children in sight as needed. Candidate must be able to communicate in a manner that all campers and staff can easily understand.

Duties Include:

  • Role model for all campers and Jr. Staff.
  • Lead your group in an orderly, positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Plan and implement daily activities appropriate for each individual group and fills your class period.
  • Use the camp behavior plan, and follow through with Director when needed.
  • Supervise CIT’s and Junior Counselor staff
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Plan model and implement fun activities keeping campers engaged and active.
  • Keep your cabin and cabin supplies neat and orderly.
  • Other duties assigned by the executive director.

Senior Counselor in Charge

Wage: Salaried position for summer camp season.

Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director

Qualifications: experience working with children; experience leading children in group activities; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, at least high school diploma and 18 years of age, but college student majoring in education or professional working in education preferred.

  • Maintain updated attendance and permission slips of each camper.
  • Plan and implement daily cabin meetings, and free time period.
  • Use the camp behavior plan, and follow through with Director when needed.
  • Supervise CIT’s and Junior Counselor staff
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Assist the camp director to plan for family day, parent nights, overnights, and other special events during the summer camp season.
  • Keep your cabin and cabin supplies neat and orderly.
  • Other duties assigned by the executive director.

Junior Counselor

Wage: Salaried position for summer camp season

Immediate Supervisor: Senior Counselor

Qualifications: experience as a CIT or as a camper, experience babysitting or working with clubs, reliable transportation including the commitment to take the bus.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to move quickly and freely across all camp terrains and keep children in sight as needed. Candidate must be able to communicate in a manner that all campers and staff can easily understand.

Duties Include:

  • Role model for all campers at all times.
  • Participate in all camp activities by assisting campers in participating.
  • Assist your senior counselor or instructor to lead your group in an orderly, positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Participate with your senior counselor in the planning and implementation of daily cabin meetings, and free time period.
  • Use the camp behavior plan, and follow through with senior counselor when needed.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings if transportation allows
  • Keep your cabin and cabin supplies neat and orderly.
  • Other duties assigned by the executive director and your senior counselor.

Waterfront Director

Wage: Salaried position for summer camp season.

Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director

Qualifications: meet all the Board of Health required certifications; experience working with children; experience in direct swimming instruction; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a high school diploma and 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements: meet all the Board of Health required certifications; must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to move quickly and freely across all camp terrains and keep children in sight as needed. Candidate must be able to communicate in a manner that all campers and staff can easily understand.

Duties Include:

  • Keep all campers, staff, and rental persons safe by the pool at all times.
  • Role model for all campers, lifeguards, and Jr. Staff.
  • Instruct groups in an orderly, positive and professional manner at all times rain or shine.
  • Use the camp behavior plan, and follow through with Director when needed.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Assist the camp director to plan parent nights, overnights, and other special events during the summer camp season.
  • Oversee daily pool operations
  • Daily pool testing and required paperwork.
  • Plan and implement pool safety information for staff at orientation.
  • Other duties assigned by the executive director.

Junior Lifeguard

Wage: Salaried position for summer camp season.

Immediate Supervisor: Waterfront Director

Qualifications: meet all the Board of Health required certifications; experience working with children; experience in lifeguarding in a pool setting; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements: meet all the Board of Health required certifications; must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to move quickly and freely across all camp terrains and keep children in sight as needed. Candidate must be able to communicate in a manner that all campers and staff can easily understand.

Duties Include:

  • Keep all campers, staff, and rental persons safe by the pool at all times.
  • Role model for all campers, lifeguards, and Jr. Staff.
  • Assist the waterfront director in instructing the groups in an orderly, positive and professional manner at all times rain or shine.
  • Use the camp behavior plan, and follow through with Director when needed.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Assist the waterfront director in overseeing the daily pool operations
  • Assist the waterfront director in daily pool testing and required paperwork.
  • Other duties assigned by the executive director.

Maintenance Staff

Wage: Hourly during the camp season

Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director

Qualifications: The maintenance staff person is responsible for the condition of the buildings and grounds of the camp. This position requires: experience with maintenance and repair for a moderate-sized facility; a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license; tools and equipment needed for routine maintenance projects; the ability to work independently without direct supervision; a willingness to be flexible to meet the maintenance needs of the camp; the ability to evaluate the soundness of the facility and ensure that it meets expectations without supervision; the ability to be reliable in showing up as scheduled during the camp season.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to move quickly and freely across all camp terrains.

Duties Include:

  • In cooperation with the executive director, inspect the grounds and facilities before and after the camp season. Generate an annual repair plan with the executive director for the board of directors prior to the start of camp.
  • Implement the repair plan by completing repairs as scheduled. Check with the executive director to ensure that repair expenses are within the allocated budget.
  • Monitor the camp grounds and contact the executive director when mowing or other anticipated grounds work is needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the executive director.

Nurse

Wage: Part time @ 3-4 hours a day

Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director

Qualifications: meet all the Board of Health required certifications; experience working with children; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, LPN or higher.

Physical Requirements: meet all the Board of Health required certifications; must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to move quickly and freely across all camp terrains and keep children in sight as needed. Candidate must be able to communicate in a manner that all campers and staff can easily understand.

Duties Include:

  1. Oversee all campers, staff, and medical records.
  2. Train staff at orientation about medical procedures.
  3. Daily medication distribution and on overnight.
  4. First aid care of campers and staff during work hours.
  5. Other duties assigned by the executive director.
